What is AR?
AR (Accelerated Reader) is a reading incentive program used in the Brandon Valley Schools. Each child's reading level is established by using a STAR test. Based on the results of this test, a personal reading goal and range will be set each quarter by the student and teacher. Students will use this information to select "good fit" books for themselves. After reading a book, the child can take a quiz about the book on a school computer. By answering questions correctly, students will earn points toward their goal.
